Full Description

Sax pottery sherds, incuding at least one rim, recovered by Basil Brown from churchyard and 3 feet high bank surrounding it. Sherds displayed in case in St Mary's Church (S1)(S2).
On Brown's 6 inch OS map there is a note added that there are indications of road to Saxon site in Burgate Wood to the W - see BUR 007.
Also note earlier building running under nave floor - see Med.
