Summary

The former earthworks of an embanked boundary ditch, possibly associated with woodland belts surrounding Gunton Park, were visible on aerial photographs. Some of which are recorded as being ancient woodland and part of Foxburrow wood (LWT 036). See also LWT 205 for details of former medieval to post medieval earthworks surrounding Gunton Old Hall (LWT 022) to the north.

Full Description

September 2013. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The former earthworks of an embanked boundary ditch, possibly associated with the edge of woodland belts surrounding Gunton Park, were visible on aerial photographs (S1). Some of which are recorded as being ancient woodland and part of Foxburrow wood (LWT 036). The site is centred on TM 5402 9528. See also LWT 205 for details of former medieval to post medieval earthworks surrounding Gunton Old Hall (LWT 022) to the north.
