Summary

The cropmarks of a ring ditch, potentially representing the remains of a Neolithic or Bronze Age barrow, are visible on aerial photographs. Three pit-like features are clearly visible within the central area and could feasibly relate to burials. The eastern side of the ring ditch appears to have been incorporated into a ditch or conversely may have been built against an existing boundary. See BLN 028 for an adjacent located ring ditch. Neolithic finds have been located in close proximity (BLN 006).

Ring ditch cropmark (S1).

January 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The cropmarks of a ring ditch, potentially representing the remains of a Neolithic or Bronze Age barrow, are visible on aerial photographs (S2). The ring ditch is centred on TM 5179 9696 and is broad ditched and measuring 19m in diameter. Three pit-like features are clearly visible within the central area and could feasibly relate to burials. The eastern side of the ring ditch appears to have been incorporated into a ditch or conversely may have been built against an existing boundary. See BLN 028 for an adjacent located ring ditch. Neolithic finds have been located in close proximity (BLN 006).
