Monument record SOL 039 - Site of fragmentary, undated cropmarks in northwest corner of Somerleyton Park

Please read our .

Summary

Fragmentary linear and rectilinear cropmarks of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs in the northwest corner of Somerleyton Park (SHER SOL 015). Some or all of them could relate to the more extensive cropmarks of a field system of possible Roman date visible to their immediate north (SHER LUD 016). They could instead relate to the park itself, although there is no obvious evidence that this is the case. Finds of prehistoric to post medieval date have been recovered from the area (SHER ASY 006).
