The probable medieval moat described above is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (S5-S6). It is clearest on relatively recent aerial photographs, on which its form differs little from that depicted on modern Ordnance Survey maps.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 18th June 2014.
This small moat lies in flat arable land circa 15.0m above OD. It has overall dimensions of 46.0m east to west and 46.0m north to south. The unusually wide waterfilled arms have a maximum width of 1.5m. A causeway spans the eastern arm and an inlet is visible at the south west corner but no outlet can be seen. The island is very small and stands 0.5m above the surrounding area and is covered by fruit trees. No building remains are evident.
