Summary

Cropmarks of field boundaries of probable medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs. Additional possible cropmarks were also identified, but were felt to be of likely geological origin, but it is possible that some relate to fragmentary ditches pre-dating those mapped.

Full Description

July 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
Cropmarks of field boundaries of probable medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs (S1). Additional possible cropmarks were also identified on (S2), but were felt to be of likely geological origin, but it is possible that some relate to fragmentary ditches pre-dating those mapped.
This monument includes the area of additional soilmarks visible on (S3), but not included within the mapping due to the suspicion that they are relate to boundaries and features or relatively late date.
