Full Description
A World War II strongpoint is visible in 1941 at TM 521799, south of Easton Wood. The site consists of possibly two pillboxes with associated trenches including a possible weapons pit, within barbed wire (doubled on the northeast side) (S1). 1945 photography shows that there was also a minefield on the east and south sides (S2). The strongpoint was one of a number around Easton Wood and was associated with a Coastal Artillery Battery but has since been eroded away.
Initially numbered as COV 029 during pilot survey of intertial area. Re-numbered Nov 2004
