Full Description

A length of beach defence scaffolding can be seen running for over 1.5km along the beach in Gisleham parish, to the east of Pakefield Cliffs on aerial photographs from 1941 (S1), 1944 (S2) and 1945 (S3). This would have been part of the World War II coastal defences in this area. There appear to be two square structures, probably pillboxes, incorporated into the scaffolding at TM53718902 & TM53728895.
