Full Description

A stretch of beach defence scaffolding over 2km long is visible along the beach in Kessingland parish from 1941 (S1). This was part of a wider system of coastal defence during World War II, aimed at eliminating the chance of a seaborne invasion. In this area, there was defence scaffolding along much of the coastline.
