Full Description

A rectangular structure with associated trenches can be seen clearly on aerial photographs from July 1940 (S1). The structure may possibly be a pillbox, however it is rather large, at 10m across. The structure is still visible on 1941 photographs (S2), although it appears to have been enclosed and possibly joined by another structure, forming some kind of emplacement, although the photograph is not brilliantly clear. The structure can still be seen on 1943 aerial photographs (S3), although the trench is no longer such a prominent feature. The structure would appear to be of World War II date, but its function is unknown.
