Full Description

Defensive scaffolding of World War II date can be seen running along the beach around the Bawdsey peninsular from TM335377 to TM332384. The scaffolding was part of the anti-invasion defences surrounding RAF Bawdsey. (S1) (S2) (S3) (S5)
The scaffolding has been removed by 1949.
Part of this seen as part of the Suffolk Coast field survey - Stretch of groynes incorporating wood and concrete/metal defences protecting cliff and grotto walk. Three phases visible. S4
