Full Description

A 1.4km stretch of beach defence scaffolding and sections of barbed wire entanglement are visible as structures on the beach to the south of Dunwich, and close to Dunwich Cliffs, on aerial photographs from 1941 (S1,S2). These features would have been part of the coastal defences of this area during the World War II period, and adjoin featue DUN 029, another long section of WWII beach defence. The beach defences are still visible on photographs from 1945 (S3).
