Full Description
An arc of posts, of unknown date and function, can be seen at TM 26564734 in Martlesham Creek on photographs taken in 1948. There are nine visible posts, between 4m and 6m apart, forming an alignment which curves out from the seabank towards the channel. The function of the post-built structure and its relationship to the modern seabank is unclear. (S1) A sluice is marked near the structure on the Ordnance Survey 1st and 2nd Edition maps of circa 1884 and 1904 respectively, though the sluice and the structure may not be related in any way. (S2-S3)
