Full Description
The remains of a Post Medieval quay structure are visible in the inter-tidal zone off Kyson Point at TM 27134743. The quay structure measures roughly 25m by 12m. (S1, S2) The quay, named Kingston Quay on the 1st and 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey 25" maps of circa 1884 and 1904 (S3, S4), appears to have collapsed by 1948 and may have gone out of use with the construction of the boat hard just to the south (S4).

Passengers embarked to London by steamer here in 1842. Also brick kiln here and ballast dug for ships. See S6 for further details. S6.
