Full Description
A Post Medieval landing stage is visible as a structure on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s, centred on TM 22243875 in the intertidal zone of the River Orwell near Broke Hall, Nacton parish. The structure is 210m in length and is visible as a linear zigzag pattern jutting out into the river channel. (S1) (S2) The landing stage is depicted on both the 1st and 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey 25" maps of circa 1884 and 1904, though it appears to have been extended between those dates. (S3) (S4)
