Full Description
A bombing range marker of World War II date is visible on aerial photographs as a structure centred on circa TM44065056 in Orford parish. The marker can be seen on photographs of 1943 to 1945, although it appears to have been enlarged at some point during this time (S1, S2). Despite the poor detail on the 1945 photographs, it can be seen as a black and white patterned square about 20m x 20m in size. By 1945 it has been enlarged to circa 15m x 15m, and is a simple white square. The marker has been removed by 1952 (S3).
