A small area was excavated within a levelled moat as the site was threatened by further levelling. Late med finds and evidence was recovered.

1969-1970: Fieldwalking survey by R Colchester located small scatter of Med sherds, adjacent and to NW of moat of Old Farm (S1)(S2).

Evaluation of an area within town ditch and to rear of road frontage, in advance of redevelopment of the Old Coal Yard opposite the church showed truncation of subsoil surface in eastern two thirds of site and possible town ditch/bank deposits surviv...

Large flint hand-axe.

Scatter of unglazed and part-glazed pottery, C13-C16 on the edge of Church Road, at the junction with a now diappeared road that led south to Old Farm (see WYB 007)(S1).

Large pit and slight ditch seen to east and north side of compartment during earthwork survey. Undated but probably modern.

Half hour-glass perforated `adze', taken to Moyses Hall(?) and sent for sectioning (to Norwich Castle? ).

Scatter of part-glazed and unglazed pottery of late Med and Transitional type, C15 - early C16 along the edge of Old Farm Field, behind Holiday House (S1).
