Trenched evaluation revealed early 20th century features associated with nearby naval training establishment. Landscaping of slope down to marina also identified but not thought to be part of nearby 19th C. gun battery.

Rescue excavation, during watching brief, of Preh feature/s containing pottery found during machining for farm reservoir of circa 150m by 150m.

Degraded bank in front of existing wall and saltmarsh. Not possible to access - channels and fencing.

Old battery marked on map of 1867, also site of possible World War II gun emplacement.
