Site of the original Culford village lies near the church, in Culford Park. Only church and 'Home Farm' remain.

Culford Lodge Farm was used during Tank and Battle training on Elveden estate. A specially built rail spur (with central loading ramp for tanks) terminal was built near Culford Lodge Farm in the twin tracked 'Government siding'.

Evaluation and excavation disclosed Early Bronze Age child inhumation with complete food vessel and group of 17 pits, 1 posthole and two ditches mainly of Late Bronze Age date - details to follow.
