An archaeological watching brief for EDF overhead line dismantlement and cable undergrounding at Potash Farm, Holbrook, within the internal area of a Neolithic causewayed enclosure.

Monitoring revealed a series of disturbed and re-deposited layers, a bonded flint and mortar wall, capped well and a cobbled surface associated with the farmhouse.

A low, circa 5m high, cliff faces the Stour estuary along Harkstead shore, where faunal remains and a few palaeoliths have been found in the cliffs or on the foreshore (S1).

Monitoring of test pits revealed evidence of a channel, pond or wet hollow in the south of LCS 160 containing a sherd of medieval pottery, a small quantity of unstratified medieval pottery.
