Full Description

`4 petit tranchets' from `Icklingham' (1966.1495-1498) in OXFAS (S1), previously recorded under Misc Mes.
Also large collection of `Neo' flints in OXFAS, including 7 axes and 130 flint arrowheads, see catalogue numbers:- 1886.41.3; 1867; 1927.3565-7 (R1, 70), 3568-78, 3643, 3644 (R1, 341), 3645-48, 3653-55, 3730, 3782, 3991, 3993, 5952 (`near Icklingham'), 6015-25 (R1, 382) & 6028. See (S2) for details. Note the items with a 1927 prefix are probably from the Evans collection. Note some of these are likely to derive from finds scatters rather than representing stray finds and others may be C19 fakes, note the Icklingham gun-flint knappers were known to have practised this.

Formerly recorded as IKL MISC
