Summary

Scatter of pottery and metalwork - coins, bull of Pope Martin IV, a noble coin weight, French jettons, dogs-head bronze spout, lozenge buckle, gilded strap end with letter `R', gilded box mount and a sherd of EMed grey ware, found metal detecting (S1).

Full Description

Circa 1971-1985: finds from fieldwalking (whole field) by Janet Tacon include large numbers of Medieval and Post Medieval sherds and Med glazed tile fragments. Also 4 lava quern fragments (Med?). Details in (S2).
1987: scatter of metalwork from area delineated on HER map - coins, bull of Pope Martin IV, a noble coin weight, French jettons, dogs-head bronze spout, lozenge buckle, gilded strap end with letter `R', gilded box mount and a sherd of EMed grey ware, found metal detecting (S1).

Area is NW of the scheduled part of the Priory.
Also Sax Ipswich & Thetford type wares.
