Full Description
June 1994: Scatter of worked flint, pottery and bone located during rapid assessment of area machined in preparation for laying of hard core to N of Caudle Head. Details in (S1). Rom finds probably include much of the animal bone and part of a child's skull, and a scatter of pottery, mainly grey wares but including two sherds Nene Valley colour coat & wares with shell inclusions.
Monitoring in 1994 located two small, E-W aligned ditches of Roman date, at the western end of the airfield which may mark the edge of the Caudkle head settlement area (S2).
Part of larger Caudle Head occupation site.
