Full Description

Feb 2001: Two short evaluation trenches revealed ditch and longish (1.6m wide) pit with lots of pottery. Details to follow (S1).

2001: Monitoring of footing trenches identified several features of Roman refuse pits containing substantial quantities of pottery, animal bone and tile. This was indicative of occupation from the Late Iron Age to the Middle Roman Period (S2).

2001: Evaluation identified a single dithc and a large pir containing Roman pottery of 1st to 2nd century date and tile (S3).
