Full Description
Groundworks associated with a new dwelling between The Old Mill and 7, Duke Street, Haughley, were monitored as a condition of the planning consent. Pits and ditches were recorded within the raft footings, many of which contained finds of a medieval or late medieval date and are likely to be associated with medieval roadside occupation in the vicinity. A single sherd of prehistoric pottery was recovered as an unstratified find (S1).
Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2008 (S2).
