Full Description

2010: Evaluation, An archaeological evaluation was carried out on land to the rear of 403 - 439 Bramford Road, Ipswich, in advance of a housing development. Nine trenches with a total length of 190m were excavated across the site. Within these a single undated ditch and a single pit, from which a small amount of Late Neolithic pottery was recovered, were excavated and recorded (S1).

2010: Monitoring, Following on from a trenched evaluation, in which one undated ditch and a pit containing Late Neolithic pottery were identified, archaeological monitoring of groundwork associated with the construction of a housing development on land to the rear of 403 - 439, Bramford Road, Ipswich, was undertaken between August and November 2010. The initial topsoil strip and a number of excavated footing trenches were examined but no further archaeological features were noted and no artefacts recovered (S2).
