Full Description
November 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Beauty National Mapping Programme.
The cropmarks of a polygonal and/or rectilinear enclosure of unknown date is visible on aerial photographs (S1) underlying the Second World War airfield (RLM 047). A possible medieval to post medieval date for this incomplete polygonal enclosure could be suggested by the apparent relationship with boundaries depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map (S2), however it may represent an earlier feature, feasibly of later prehistoric to Roman date.
S. Horlock (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 25th November 2015.
