Monument record WNN 026 - Cropmarks of a polygonal and/or rectilinear enclosure of unknown date

Please read our .

Summary

The cropmarks of a polygonal and/or rectilinear enclosure of unknown date is visible on aerial photographs underlying the Second World War (RLM 047). A possible medieval to post medieval date for the incomplete polygonal enclosure could be suggested by the apparent relationship with boundaries depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map, however it may represent an earlier feature, feasibly of later prehistoric to Roman date.
