Full Description

Small circular updraught type kiln.
Pottery with cordons and oblique lines (? circa 50 AD).
Temporary kiln top material with grass impressions. Found near St Mary's, on edge of copse (now housing estate).
May 1993: An archaeological evaluation of the sites adjacent, and E of the kiln site at TM 2470 4652 was undertaken by J Newman for SAU. Two trenches were mechanically dug and no archaeological finds or features were located in either trench (S1).
Monitoring of an extension in 2001 revealed a modern well. No archaeological features or finds were seen. S2
