Full Description

2016: Excavation revealed an Iron Age pit and ditch, as well as two post-medieval pits. Five undated ditches and 1 undated pit were also revealed. The alignments of the ditches appeared random and did not appear to suggest a regularly aligned field-system. Iron Age pottery was recovered from the fill of the pit and ditch. A number of struck flint was recovered, including a single core and flakes. A single sherd of post-medieval pottery was recovered from the other pit, along with post medieval roof tile, a single piece of clay tobacco pipe (S1).

Descriptions of finds are broad, dating to a specific period bracket is ill-advised. However, they may be later Prehistoric, based on context, (S2).
