Full Description

1906-1907: Excavation. Cemetery, circa 162 inhumations, 12 cremations. Excavated 1906-7 by Nina Layard, Ipswich Museum. Finds include square head brooches, spearheads, shield fittings, knives, iron strike-a-lights, bronze tweezers, iron rings, 7th century glass, buckles, necklaces, keys, spindle whorls, combs, two garnet brooches

1920: 7th century hanging bowl found, 7 inches diameter, 3 inches deep, three small exterior pointed escutcheons, with animal head hooks.
