Full Description

Site of the Metfield Airfield Communal site No. 1. The site comprised of Officers Mess, Officers Bath House, Sergeants Mess, Sergeants Showers, Airmans Dining Room, Ration Store, Breakdown Store, Institute, Grovery & Local Produce Store, Decontamination & Ablutions, Fuel Compound, Standby Set House, Picket Post, Water Tank (High Level). Air raid and blast shelters are alos locatated on the site. This was recorded as part of the Eighth in the East Project (S1,S2).
