Full Description
1885-1919? A Palaeolithic pear-shaped hand-axe 3.8 inches long, and a core 2.5 inches wide, were found at Rougham in 1885. In the Sturge collection, British Museum. Smith believed that these implements were more likely to have come from Rougham, Suffolk (TL 9162) rather than Rougham, Norfolk. Roe lists four hand-axes from Rougham, Suffolk, quoting the British Museum and Smith (S1). Wymer disagrees, (S2, S3).
