Full Description

A section of beach defence scaffolding c 900m long can be seen running N-S alongside the sea wall, to the east of Lowestoft Denes, on 1941 aerial photographs (S1,S2). There are 2 structures incorporated into the length of scaffolding at TM55259510 and TM55319487. These structures may be pillboxes, but it is difficult to be sure form the aerial photographs. This section of scaffolding does not appear on later photographs from around 1945.
Beach scaffolding shown in Figure 30 of the source (S3).
