Full Description
A stretch of barbed wire obstruction, c500m in length, can be seen on aerial photographs from 1941(S1), running along the beach to the east of Dunwich Heath. This feature is part of a much larger system of coastal defences, which were erected during World War II.
Also seen as part of field survey of Suffolk Coast - jumbles of barbed wire eroding from cliff face - 20m wide cut visible. Wire sealed by 1.5m of mixed sand and ballast. S2
