Reputed to be the grave of William Alecock from Market Weston who committed suicide in C18 and according to tradition was buried at the crossroads of Bury Lane and Wyken Road (parish boundary with Bardwell). Formerly recorded as SNT MISC

The monitoring revealed, two pits (one of which contained medieval pottery), an overlying layer of post-medieval garden soil and 19th-century brick and concrete foundations.

An archaeological evaluation identified three ditches of probable Iron Age date and a post-medieval hedgeline.

Monitoring of drainage trenches external to the tower were not deep enough to disturb intact burials and further structural remains were not uncovered.
