Prehistoric lithic scatter found whilst metal detecting in 2003.

Prehistoric flints and medieval pottery were recovered from the spoil of a soakaway.

Evaluation and excavation identified two Early Bronze Age inhumations a number pits dated from the Early Neolithic through to the Iron Age and ditches of possibly this date.

Fieldwalking located one barbed and tanged arrowhead, 39 'flakes' & 1 burnt flint, as well as sherds of medieval and post-medieval pottery. Previously recorded as BSE Misc.

Prehistoric layer and pit, also an undated ditch and gully and struck flints, nails and a sherd Middle to Late Iron Age pottery were recovered from the subsoil layers.

The foundation trench or drip-gulley of a small round house of late prehistoric date may visible on aerial photographs as a crop mark ring ditch to the west of Newbourne village, Newbourne parish.
