Features including a ditch and a small pit and finds - pottery (mainly C1 and C2), Samian, amphora, a few tile fragments, coins (?Hadrian and ? an Antoninianus?) - identified after topsoil stripped for sewage pipe.

A wide ditch in Mendham parish, visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1950s, may be the remains of a large medieval moated site or the line of a grubbed up field boundary.
