Full Description
1962-1964 A very prolific tool site with half-moon shaped structural marks and stake-holes clearly visible, was discovered after several thousands of flint artefacts were found while ploughing at King Farm, Beck Row. Originally considered Upper Palaeolithic (S1), then Mesolithic (S5), then Terminal Palaeolithic, (S10).
For a list of artefacts and their locations, see Wymer (S5).
1987: A few flint blades of similar type to those listed in (S5) were located fieldwalking during Fenland Survey by C Pendleton in 1987 (details not yet available).
Photos, letters & various manuscripts relating to pottery and flints from Kelly's King site excavations in Cambridge University Museum archive (S8).
