Full Description

`A large portion of a flat bowl, rim diameter 16 inches, depth 5.5 inches' of ... pink gritted ware. `Exterior rilled all over, and there is a wide flange with bold cursive decoration' (S1,S2).

Found on line of strip of light soil - clay and chalk running SE-NW, shown by excavation to be black gault which dries a lighter colour. Further potsherds and two oyster shells found.
