`Ghost' of Micklewood delineated by Rackham (S2).

Small scale evaluation to SE of Airport Terminal building revealed single undated ditch of possible prehistoric date (S1).

One of three areas (IPS 404-406) identified during evaluation in 2000 (see IPS 399) for open area excavation due to complex arrangement of field boundaries of Late Iron Age, Roman, Saxon & Post Medieval date.

The evaluation found a series of ditches, located mainly in the north and west of the site

1999: 25 trench evaluation followed by smaller (0.7 ha) open area excavation of relatively intense area of Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age occupation.

Evaluation of proposed primary school site on part of former airfield (see IPS 427 & IPS 613). Two trenches: oneditch with a 1st Century Roman potsherd, and two undated postholes found.

Evaluation located extensive ditch system (see IPS 1494 for mapping), some probably Post Medieval but others probably earlier. Also single pit with beaker rim and one ditch with Roman and Middle Saxon pottery.

Cropmark of a ring ditch, circa 33m in diameter with a linear (? field boundary) NE - SW respecting it.
