Monument record CAC 076 - Cropmarks of possible medieval to post medieval enclosures and/or fields

Please read our .

Summary

The cropmarks of a rectilinear enclosure and/or field and associated ditches and trackways of possible medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs. The alignment of the features would indicate a probable medieval to post medieval date, however other sites in Carlton Colville have suggested a persistence of alignment and features potentially from the Iron Age to Roman periods up to the post medieval, suggesting that an earlier origin is also possible. This site also includes some fragmentary ditches seemingly relating to another undated phase of activity.
