Monument record MUD 019 - Woodland boundaries

Please read our .

Summary

The cropmarks of boundaries relating to the Mutford Big Wood ancient woodland (MUD 009) are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). Only those not depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map (S3) are included within the mapping. The northern curvilinear boundary appears to have also acted as a drainage ditch, but the width of the feature and the presence of an accompanying bank indicate that it formed a relatively major boundary.
