Summary

Metal detecting survey in 2013 recovered a concentration of Roman coins, a scatter of medieval finds which includes a purse bar in a similar area as well as post-medieval and modern finds which were recovered across all 9 fields.

Full Description

2013: Metal detecting survey over a 9 fields recovered Roman coins and Medieval finds including a lead weight and purse bar. Also, a large quantity of post-medieval finds were recovered which include, buttons, coins, fittings, a lead weight, a large watch winder with signs of guilding and lead statuette, possible of Saint Audrey, the paton saint of Musicians. Modern finds that were recovered include, thimbles, coins, buttons and a guilded fob inscribed "Collis Bury St Edmunds". The Roman finds concentrated in the field where a large amount of Roman finds were recovered previously, see NRN 009. Most of the medieval finds were found in the similar area to the Roman, and the post-medieval and modern finds were scattered across all 9 fields (S1).
